Welcome to Carmel Lodge Care Home
My name is Diane Cooper and I am the Registered Manager of Carmel Lodge in Adlington, which is part of the Maria Mallaband Care group.
I have worked for the group for four years and in that time I have successfully turned the 36 bedded purpose built development into a thriving and well-respected home, caring for the elderly with dementia. My experience in social care covers many years working for social services and the private sector - I have a diploma in health and social care and I have attained my RMA along with level 4 in health and social care.
I have just recently completed and passed my foundation in teaching, as I plan to deliver training in dementia care and life story work within the Maria Mallaband Care Group.
I am passionate about raising the profile of dementia care that is person-centred. I feel that at Carmel Lodge, we show the positive side to this devastating diagnosis. We aim to facilitate a purpose to our residents' days, which in turn increases their self worth and esteem and enriches not only their lives but that of their families and friends. My philosophy is to make a difference each day at whatever level is necessary.
We do believe that this is our residents' home not ours. We are privileged to work here and to care for our residents - the outcome is both fulfilling and rewarding for all of us.
