Carmel Lodge – New Skills
Dementia does not mean you cannot try something new or learn a new skill, so we at Carmel have decided to start language classes, these will be French and Spanish, the residents seem keen.
We have been doing some ballet lessons, we are going to continue to do this and introduce stretching classes as it has been proven that its very good for people suffering with dementia and Parkinson’s, helps with posture, balance and strength. Our activities co-ordinator is a professional dance teacher so it should be a success.
We intend to hold many events through out the summer, these all linking in with dementia awareness.
