Greetings from Carmel Lodge, this week we have gladly welcomed the sunshine and have been enjoying the garden, some of our residents have enjoyed sitting out or strolling around the garden and others have been helping out in the greenhouse.
We have had our choir practise and sang along to some hymns during morning worship, which we held for our residents who were unable to attend church that day, this was followed by a gentle stretch and a classical music workshop.
We listened to excerpts from la fille mal gardee, Madame butterfly and swan lake to name a few.
Some of our ladies have had manicures with coffee , chocolate and a chat.
We also received the good news that we were runners up in the Easter challenge and were delighted to receive a little trophy and box of biscuits for our home.
Today we decorated our dining room in orange in support of our local community who are also using the colour orange to decorate the village in support of Battens disease awareness day, as this is has sadly greatly affected a local family. The disease draws many parallels to what some of our residents go through with dementia so it is a cause very close to our own hearts.
