To mark this significant date in the year’s calendar we felt it was only fitting to present our Residents with a sporting challenge – that being to win our Quiz focusing on ‘All things Welsh’.
We had a very good turnout of both Residents and visitors with five teams competing. In accordance with good sporting tradition our Quiz commenced with two of our Residents, Beryl and Owain, who are both native Welsh speakers, singing the Welsh national anthem. English translations were available for the rest of us.

To give the quiz a bit of a twist, each team was presented with various items and photographs that provided clues to some of the questions. There were also a few red herrings thrown in for good measure! And, our contestants were given plenty of time to ponder over the answers whilst being served Morning Coffee and Welsh Cakes.
After the Quiz our Residents were treated to a Welsh-themed menu devised by our Chef with the Gypsy Tart pudding proving particularly popular. For those Resident’s who felt they didn’t need an afternoon nap following the day’s indulgences, a Church Service had been arranged that focused on the Good Works of St David.
A good time was had by all!!
