Staff at The Belvedere are preparing for Dignity in Care Action Day where the focus is on ‘raising awareness’ for staff, families & friends and professional visitors. Their display in the main reception has been produced by Joanne: Activities Coordinator and Hayley & Petiance; two Mental Health Student Nurses who are new to the service.
Research indicates that there are eight main factors that promote dignity in care.
Each of these Dignity Factors contributes to a person's sense of self respect, and they should all be present in care
‘At The Belvedere we put Dignity at the heart of everything we do and
we decided that our symbol for Dignity Day will be the Blue Ribbon Heart’
Activities include:
A blue heart cake
Memorable moments through music
Staff & Families/Friends views on ‘Dignity
Everyone wearing their ‘blue ribbon heart’
Promoting Dignity through Observation, Questioning and Understanding
Making a difference to the lives of those we care for
