A memorial autumn flowering cherry tree was planted one year after Lady Nora David (resident at Windmill Court) passed away. Lady Nora David spent two of her final years at Windmill Court Nursing Home. She was a vital member of the House of Lords for two decades and was a student at Newnham College in the early thirties. Nora was a very active lady and enjoyed life to the full. Wind surfing and walking the Rumps near Polzeath with her family were a few of her favourite things. Lady Nora's daughter Teresa and husband Tony planted the cherry tree in Windmill Court's very own 'Secret Garden'. Lady Nora David loved Cornwall and especially the North. She had a great interest in other people and their welfare and was very much loved by all the staff and residents at the care home.
