More than 50 residents, staff and guests were welcomed to a Stockport care home recently to celebrate its grand opening. The Maria Mallaband Care Group (MMCG) residence, The Belvedere, in Alderley Edge is the sixth property to open its doors in the Cheshire area.
Double world champion motorcycle racer and MMCG ambassador James Toseland made a special visit to the town to officially open the new residence with a superb live piano performance. Taught how to play the piano by his grandmother, the 28-year-old was delighted to be invited to the opening event.
MMCG Chairman Phil Burgan welcomed guests before introducing MotoGP contender Toseland's solo piano performance. James was also delighted to answer questions and sign posters for everyone who requested them. Tours of the home and a delicious buffet lunch were also provided for those in attendance.
The Belvedere Manager Sandie Rainey said: "I'd like to say a big thank you to James and the staff at The Belvedere for making the opening of our new property such a special occasion. I am thrilled with the number of guests who took the time to come and meet us all, and look forward to welcoming the home's new residents in due course."
The Belvedere is adjacent to Cavendish Court - also part of the Maria Mallaband portfolio - in the sought-after village of Alderley Edge in Cheshire. The property is registered to provide luxury residential, nursing and dementia care for 41 residents. All rooms are single with ensuite facilities.
Leeds-based MMCG was established in 1996 and is now one of the UK's leading care providers. The group offers specialist care and nursing services for residents with dementia and physical disabilities.
