We had a very interesting talk (accompanied by photos) by a resident RAF Wing Commander. This proved to be very popular and gave us an insight into to role of an air traffic controller. Many anecdotes, laughter and audience participation, and one of our residents also recounted times of his Naval Career, and having to climb the mast of the warship in order to carry out his task of radar management. He recounted that he found it more terrifying to climb the mast in stormy seas, than it was to endure gun fire from the opposing side. This provided a very interesting discussion and our residents recounted all of their war time stories.
Next week, we are looing forward to our Mid Summer Tea Party again looking for good weather so that the Pimm’s can be enjoyed in the Sensory Gardens whilst listening to jazz. – Fingers Crossed!!
