The sun is shining again! A good day for gardening and for walks in the spinney, without the need for raincoats and umbrellas!!!
Pity the weather wasn’t like this on Wednesday of this week when we had our 2nd Boat Trip for July. It was lovely though to have a good scenic trip as usual, even if it was viewed through the cabin windows. Smoked salmon rolls, coronation chicken, ham & cheese salad rolls, cakes, strawberries, a bottle of wine, and endless cups of tea and coffee.
Good company, laughter and conversation as we had 3 relatives on board which made the trip even more special for our residents. “Happy Memories” for one who used to spend many family holidays on the “Norfolk Broads” in their cruiser when her children were young. She said that her son and daughter always enjoyed being on the water and could always find something to do, never getting bored. Her daughter Liz laughingly agreed that the same could apply all these years later, as she kindly helped to pass the cakes round.
One our other residents daughter was also on board, which was lovely and we look forward to our next music recital from her and the group, a week on Saturday.
We also had a trip to the shops on Tuesday, which is good for our residents to have “Retail Therapy” for their personnel shopping – cosmetics, confectionery, magazines etc.
On Thursday, we attended a forum held by “Nottingham Enrich” on the University Campus. This was well supported and it was a good chance to share ideas and knowledge with colleagues in the same industry, which will only benefit our residents. We look forward to the next forum in November.
In the meantime, just going to dig out those gardening gloves (excuse the pun!)
