Leading UK care home provider appoints new Operations Director

One of the UK's leading care home providers, Maria Mallaband Care Group (MMCG), has appointed a new Operations Director to run its elderly care division. Vicky Craddock, who spent four years as the company's Area Manager and another year as Operations Manager for the North East and Yorkshire, was promoted to the position in November.

Vicky has more than 18 years' experience in the care industry - she worked in the private sector before joining MMCG. Her previous work with the elderly will be especially useful for her as she is now directly responsible for running the elderly care side of MMCG  - and that is no easy feat, as the company has 25 elderly care homes in its portfolio.

"Vicky is perfect for this position" says Phil Burgan, MMCG Chairman and CEO. "She is a valuable asset to our business and will be an important part of our continued growth and success."

As Operations Director, Vicky is in charge of a team of area managers, human resource managers and property managers. "It is my job to make sure the homes are running smoothly and efficiently," she said. "My primary concern is to ensure that the high quality care that people have come to expect from MMCG homes will continue."

She is also responsible for the registration of new homes after the directors have secured their acquisition. Leeds-based MMCG's most recent acquisitions include Ashfield Court in Harrogate, Birch Heath in Christleton and Monread Lodge in Hertfordshire.

MMCG was established in 1996 by Phil Burgan, who named it after his grandmother. The Group has 56 properties throughout the UK, ranging from the Channel Islands to County Durham, including eight in Yorkshire. In addition to elderly care, MMCG also runs care homes for adults with autism and learning disabilities, as well as luxury retirement properties.
